	The company was started by Phil LoVecchio, who had been a
	senior instructor at Digital Equipment Corporation.  Over a twenty-
	five year period, Phil has built a network of the finest quality
	instructors and course developers.  

	Phil has always felt that it was very important to find 
	instructors who had the technical knowledge and experience 
	with a particular topic, along with those who had taken 
	the time and done the research in writing (and updating) 
	course materials. For example, Phil has written over 100 
	different course handouts, covering seven different operating 
	systems. 

	The biggest strength of Laine (and its partner base) is the 
	ability to completely customize any course, based on the needs 
	of the client.  

	In fact, over 60% of our courses, whether scheduled at 
	Laine facilities, or on-site, are made up of customized topics.
	These customizations are usually done at no additional cost
	to the requesting client. 
	
	Phil also felt that in order to be confident when working
	with a system or language, lab exercises associated with
	a course would need to be done on a real live functioning
	system.  In Oracle Solaris, Red Hat / SUSE Linux, and
	all programming courses, each participant is setup with
	their own virtual machine server for hands-on commands and
	lab exercises.  Laine also has up-to-date IBM AIX and
	HP-UX servers that can be shipped to the client site, if
	needed.
